About the Role

MASE Gulf is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Operations Engineer to support the delivery of our growing portfolio of utility-scale and commercial solar PV assets across the UAE.

This is a hybrid role that combines operational coordination, technical engineering, client interface and field leadership. You will play a key role in ensuring that MASE's operations are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual obligations while maintaining a strong presence across our operating sites.

You will divide your time between MASE's Dubai office and project sites throughout the UAE, working closely with field technicians, subcontractors, clients and internal support teams to ensure the highest standards of operational excellence.

Reporting to: Gulf Operations & Growth Manager and regular interface with HQ Operations Lead

Role Purpose
To oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of MASE Gulf's solar O&M portfolio by combining technical engineering expertise with operational coordination, field supervision and client support.

You will ensure maintenance activities are properly planned, executed, monitored and continuously improved while providing technical leadership to site teams and supporting the continued growth of MASE Gulf.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation of MASE Gulf's assigned solar PV portfolio.
  • Develop weekly and monthly maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal resources, subcontractors and service partners.
  • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities are completed safely and on schedule.
  • Monitor work order progress and ensure timely close-out.
  • Track contractual KPIs and operational performance metrics.
  • Coordinate outage planning and maintenance windows.
  • Support project mobilization and demobilization activities.

Technical Engineering
  • Provide technical support for complex faults and troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and technical reports.
  • Review maintenance records and verify technical quality.
  • Review OEM recommendations and maintenance strategies.
  • Participate in major maintenance activities when required.

Field Leadership
  • Maintain a regular presence across MASE Gulf project sites.
  • Supervise field teams during critical maintenance activities.
  • Conduct routine technical inspections and quality audits.
  • Verify compliance with MASE procedures and client requirements.
  • Support engineers and technicians with troubleshooting and technical guidance.
  • Perform periodic site condition assessments.
  • Identify operational risks before they impact plant performance.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and properly documented.

Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as one of the primary operational contacts for assigned clients.
  • Attend client meetings and operational review meetings.
  • Present operational updates and maintenance performance.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors and utility representatives.
  • Support commercial discussions relating to operational performance.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.

Reporting & Operational Control
  • Prepare of monthly operational reports.
  • Review technical reports submitted by field engineers.
  • Track plant availability, PR, response times and maintenance KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
  • Monitor contractual deliverables and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare management reports and performance dashboards.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency.
  • Develop and enhance standard operating procedures.
  • Improve reporting templates and operational workflows.
  • Support implementation of digital tools and automation initiatives.
  • Promote operational best practices across the UAE portfolio.
  • Participate in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Health, Safety & Quality
  • Promote MASE's safety-first culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE requirements.
  • Conduct routine field safety observations.
  • Participate in incident investigations where required.
  • Monitor quality of maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and MASE standards.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum 4 years' experience in utility-scale or commercial solar PV operations and maintenance.
  3. Previous experience supervising field personnel or contractors.
  4. Strong understanding of LV, MV and HV electrical systems.
  5. Experience working with SCADA platforms and remote monitoring systems.
  6. Experience with CMMS and maintenance management systems is preferred.
  7. Strong technical reporting and analytical skills.
  8. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  9. Valid UAE driving licence or the ability to obtain one.
